Homeowner's Property Fire Insurance Rates
The County of Wetaskiwin is pleased to offer Superior Tanker Shuttle Service (STSS) accreditation in select areas of the County through City of Wetaskiwin Fire Services Stations #1 and #2 and the Millet Fire Department. STSS accreditation is recognized by many insurance companies and may help eligible property owners qualify for reduced fire insurance premiums.
STSS is an accreditation awarded by the Fire Underwriters Survey, recognizing a rural fire department's ability to supply water to the scene of a fire in volumes equivalent to hydrant water supply. This service is provided when a fire department can prove, by means of testing and documentation, that it can proficiently shuttle water to a scene using tanker trucks.
Residential property owners within five (5) kilometres by road of the above fire stations may be eligible for reduced personal line fire insurance rates. To confirm your eligibility, please contact your insurance company to determine your specific Dwelling Protection Grade and to inquire about the application of STSS accreditation to your policy.
