Are you interested in serving your community by becoming a Councillor for the County of Wetaskiwin? Nominations are open until September 22, 2025, at 12:00PM.
A person is eligible to be nominated as a Candidate in a municipal election if the person:
- Is eligible to vote in the election.
- Has been a resident in the County for six (6) consecutive months immediately preceding Nomination Day.
- Is not otherwise ineligible or disqualified.
Your nomination must be filed on the prescribed form and be fully completed with:
- Signatures of at least five (5) eligible electors, including the legibly printed name of the Elector.
- Their complete address and Postal Code.
- A Criminal Record Check, completed by a Law Enforcement Agency within six (6) months of filing.
- Form 29 - Notice of Intent to Run.
Nominations may be delivered in person, by hand-delivery, mail, or sent by email to the Returning Officer, Jeff Chipley.
Nomination papers must be filed on time and accepted by the Returning Officer.
