Road Construction Township 472
Project Description:
This project involves building a new road in a government road allowance so that residents have a public road for access. The alignment will extend along the TR 472 right of way west for 3.5km to where it connects to the east termination of TR472.

- Tree Clearing
- Topsoil and Subsoil Stripping and Placement
- Common Excavation

We understand construction can be inconvenient and may cause minor delays, but your patience and cooperation are crucial. Let's work together to maintain a safe construction site throughout the project.
- Road base prep approx. 75% completed
- Shut down for month of June due to mandatory RAP (restricted activity period) requirements (i.e.: fish migration/spawning)
- Project to re-recommence (after RAP) on July 2nd
- Bridge File Culvert to be installed early July followed by remainder of road works, fencing & final clean-up
- Estimated completion prior to August 30, 2025

Pending favorable weather conditions, on-site work is scheduled to resume in April 2025. Upcoming activities include:
- Completion of Tree Clearing: Remaining vegetation will be cleared to allow for full access to the work area.
- Groundwork Preparation: This will involve grading and site preparation to ensure a stable foundation for road building.
- Pre-loading in muskeg areas with geotextile and clay to stabilize and build up the road base.
- Construction crews will be on site for about 60 – 70 days. This does not include days in which crews are unable to work due to inclement weather.
- Construction will take a break from approximately the middle of May until July 1st.
- As this is a new road with no current access, traffic will not be able to travel on the new road until construction is completed.
- There will be one to two days of work to tie Township Road 472 into Highway 22. Highway 22 will remain open, but traffic should expect to be required to reduce their speed.
- Advanced notice will be given to nearby residents and traffic signage will be in place.
- Start date: Summer 2025
