Road Construction Projects
All new road construction projects are posted on the County website as they are approved by Council. Updates will be posted periodically. Notices are mailed to landowners who will be directly affected by construction projects.
Please note, these projects are weather dependent, and the start and end dates for each project is subject to change.
The County is endeavoring to safely maintain local traffic access on this road during these projects. Please be patient during the upgrades. Reduced speeds will be enforced.

West Point Beach & Buck Lake Estates Pavement Upgrades
Beginning Monday, July 29, crews will establish traffic control and begin road subgrade and culvert repairs.
New culverts will be installed at many residential approaches. The Contractor will contact each resident prior to the culvert installation to arrange for scheduling and residence access opportunity. Following subgrade repairs, ditching and culvert installations, a paving crew will be mobilized to undertake paving.
Approaches are not planned to be paved under the contract; if residents desire paving of their approach and driveway, they are welcome to approach the contractor for this private work.
Residents are asked to abide by all traffic controls to protect the workers and the public. Construction is inconvenient and may cause delays. Please respect the crews, be patient and encourage a safe construction site for the duration of the project.

Shoulder Pull - Range Road 244, 242 & Township Road 472
Work involves the shoulder pull of gravelled roads to establish a consistent road width and crown.
- Select ditching and culvert rehabilitation will be performed. Areas around the intersection of Township Road 472 and Range Road 242 will receive cement stabilization.
- Sideslopes will be mowed and sprayed to desiccate the grass. The contractor will strip the sod and topsoil prior to the shoulder pull.
- Ditches that are regularly mowed and maintained by the owner will be affected. The County will re-establish a ditch section as part of the roadway system and then re-seed. It will take up to two years for the grass to re-establish. Adjacent landowners and residents are asked to follow the process and to allow the work to proceed without delays.
Please follow all traffic controls to ensure the safety of workers. We understand construction can be inconvenient and may cause minor delays, but your patience and respect for the crews are crucial. Let's work together to maintain a safe construction site throughout the project.

Bridge File 75497
The existing bridge-sized culvert crosses a Tributary to Lloyd Creek on Range Road 24. The site (SW 21-45-2-5) is located northeast of Hoadley. The existing crossing consists of a single 1.8 m x 1.1 m x 13.4 m long arch CSP culvert.
The recommended replacement structure is a single 2.7 m dia. CSP culvert by 29.0 m invert length. This option was chosen based on hydraulic and fish passage adequacy as well as cost. The single culvert alternative will have a larger road grade raise but is the more cost-effective alternative and provides more freeboard for the road surface. The detour length is 6.5 km.
- Estimated Start date: Summer 2024
- Estimated completion date: TBD
- Project Cost: $480,000
Bridge File 763
Replacement strategy and scope for this 62-year-old 1500mm culvert is based on the recommendations outlined in the 2021 BIM inspection.
The recommended replacement will add an estimated 50 years of service life to the structure at which time replacement will be required.
- Estimated Start date: Summer 2024
- Estimated completion date: TBD
- Project Cost: $465,000
Bridge File 74940
Bridge File 74940 is a single 1.829 x 1118 m dia. culvert by 12.8 m length that carries Township Road 452 over a Tributary to Weiller Creek that has over 14% sag in the barrel.
Our preliminary assumption that the replacement structure will be twin CSP culverts or a single larger culvert. It is unlikely that larger structural plate culverts or small bridges will be required but all options would be considered during the design.
- Estimated Start date: Summer 2024
- Estimated completion date: TBD
- Project Cost: $415,000
Bridge File 77095
Replacement strategy and scope for this 54-year-old 1500 mm culvert is based on the recommendations outlined in the 2021 BIM inspection.
The recommended replacements will add an estimated 50 years of service life to the structure at which time replacement will be required.
- Estimated Start date: Summer 2024
- Estimated completion date: TBD
