Attention County Residents: If you hold a strong interest in the decisions made by local government regarding subdivision and development permits, you are invited to apply as a Member of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB).
The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 is actively recruiting for three (3) vacancies, and encourage applications from County Residents in Divisions 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7. Residents from outside these specific Divisions are also encouraged to submit an application.
The SDAB is a quasi-judicial tribunal that hears subdivision and development appeals by the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, Agricultural Pest Control Act and Weed Enforcement Act, and exercises powers, duties, and functions as provided by the County of Wetaskiwin Bylaws or Policies.
The SDAB meets on an as needed basis, with Hearings typically scheduled in evenings and Members serve a term of up to three (3) years.
Members receive compensation for training, mileage and attendance at Appeal Hearings.
Following appointment to the SDAB, Members are required to successfully complete online training, provided by the Land & Property Rights Tribunal. Training is arranged through the SDAB Clerk.
