Tax Rate 2024

On May 21, 2024, the Council of the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 approved the Mill Rates for 2024 to fund the year's final budget. The overall budget for the County stands at $45.8 million, with municipal tax support contributing $24.9 million.

The 2024 budget will impact municipal taxes as follows: the average homeowner will experience a 2.77% municipal tax increase. This adjustment includes an increase for RCMP funding, as mandated by the Government of Alberta. Businesses and commercial properties are set to see a 1.42% rise in their municipal taxes, while agricultural landowners will see a 4.80% increase. Please be aware that your tax notice covers not only municipal taxes but also provincial education tax, costs for RCMP services, and contributions towards the Wetaskiwin and Area Lodge Authority, which supports senior housing in our community.

Reeve Josh Bishop emphasized council's strategy, stating, “County Council is committed to small incremental tax increases to minimize impact on our residents and businesses. We are dedicated to proactive budgeting to mitigate tax impacts while maintaining core services.”
