Via liaison with the public, developers, consultants, engineering professionals, regulatory agencies and other County departments, the Engineering Services Division serves to review and approve capital infrastructure design drawings including those related to water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, roadway construction and storm water management.
Function
Engineering Services works in accordance with sound engineering principles and practices providing oversight regarding the design, construction, and implementation of infrastructure projects for the County of Wetaskiwin in compliance with adopted criteria, policies, and procedures. This includes review and approval of construction plans and reports for new development of subdivisions and commercial site plans, as well as all capital improvement projects. In addition, all inspections of public infrastructure construction are performed by the Engineering Services Division.
Engineering Services also serves to oversee developer’s commitments within Development Agreements and other approvals through the administration of Letters of Credit and other acceptable forms of security or performance deposits. The processing of Construction Completion Certificates and Final Acceptance Certificates are also a function of the Engineering Services Division to ensure conditions of approval are fulfilled.
