    • Transfer station recycling begins at all County transfer stations.
    • First curbside recycling collection for Mulhurst Bay and Lakeland Estates. 

    October 5, 2026

    • First curbside recycling collection for Alder Flats, Buck Lake, Gwynne, Winfield, Wizard Lake, Curilane Beach, Westerose/Viola Beach, Beachside Estates, and Woodwind Estates. 

    Following the initial collection, curbside recycling will be collected every second week on your regular collection day.

    Recycling Program

  • The program accepts many common household packaging and paper products. Recycling is collected as single-stream recycling, meaning accepted materials can be placed together and do not need to be sorted into separate categories. 

    Examples of accepted materials include:

    • Paper and cardboard
    • Cartons
    • Plastic containers and packaging
    • Steel and aluminum cans
    • Glass bottles and jars

  • Anyone who currently receives County curbside garbage collection will also receive curbside recycling collection.

    Recycling Program

  • Place recyclables in clear or transparent bags. Black garbage bags and other opaque bags will not be accepted. Bags should be tied or sealed to keep materials contained.

  • No. Residents should use clear or transparent bags for recycling collection.

  • Residents will receive one complimentary clear recycling bag before the first collection. After that, residents will need to supply their own clear or transparent bags.

  • Yes. Containers should be empty and rinsed before being recycled. Labels do not need to be removed.

  • Place recycling bags in the same location as your garbage collection, but leave at least one metre (3 feet) between recycling bags and your garbage cart.

  • The recycling program is funded through Alberta's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system and managed by Circular Materials. Under EPR, producers are responsible for funding the recycling of packaging and paper products.
