The IDP is high-level planning document that guides long-term land use planning for lands within the County of Wetaskiwin and the Summer Villages of Crystal Springs, Grandview, Norris Beach and Poplar Bay. 3. Identifies preferred future land use areas for agricultural and rural development, residential development, commercial and industrial development, parks and recreation, public utilities, and rural conservation and watershed protection areas;
4. Establishes high level land use and land management goals and objectives;
5. Identifies triggers for when the participating municipalities will require the preparation and approval of an Area Structure Plan or Outline Plan/Development Concept Plan;
6. Establishes policies affecting existing and planned development, Municipal Reserve allocation, development in environmentally sensitive areas, and development of infrastructure and transportation systems; and
7. Identifies a dispute resolution process for resolving intermunicipal disputes.
