On May 8, 2023, Council approved the 2023 Mill Rates to support the 2023 final budget. Overall, the total budget for the County of Wetaskiwin is $52.7 million with $23.7 million coming from municipal tax support.
What impact does the budget have on taxes?
The taxes for an average residential ratepayer (based on a $315,000 assessment) will increase by 3.99% which includes the increase from the Government of Alberta for RCMP funding. The average non-residential commercial ratepayer will see a 2.32% increase on their tax notice and farm will see a 3.99% increase.
Pursuant to Section 311 of the Municipal Government Act, Chapter M-26.1, and by this release, be advised that the Assessment Notices for the municipality will be mailed by June 5, 2023. All assessed persons are deemed to have received their Assessment Notices as a result of this publication.
