[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing: Municipal Development Plan

Public Hearing - MDP

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the County of Wetaskiwin No.10 will be holding a Public Hearing to review the proposed Municipal Development Plan (MDP).

The MDP is an important planning and decision-making tool that outlines direction and strategies that inform how the County will, look, feel, and grow in the future. The purpose of the MDP is to:

  • Identify a vision for the future and goals for how land within the County may be utilized over the next 20 years;
  • Identify the types of growth the County will encourage, such as agricultural, residential, commercial, recreational, and industrial development;
  • Identify where and how growth should occur; and
  • Guide decision-makers and municipal spending on economic and social matters, and the environment.

As a part of the MDP review process, Council hosted 6 open houses across the County to gather public feedback which was presented to Council through a “What We Heard Report”. This Report can be viewed on the County Website at
