Public Hearing - Advertising Bylaw

PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING: Council has given First Reading to Bylaw 2022/65, a Bylaw for the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 to establish methods for publicly advertising statutory notices and hereby gives notice of its intention to adopt the Bylaw for the purpose of providing methods of advertising of certain bylaws, resolutions, meeting, public hearings and other matters by ‘posting to the County Website’, in accordance with Section 606 and Section 692 of the Municipal Government Act. 

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: A Hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the County of Wetaskiwin Administration Building located 2.4 kilometres west of Wetaskiwin on Highway 13, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at which time written and verbal comments can be presented to Council. 

Participants are encouraged to submit comments in advance and/or attend the Hearing.  

The materials to be discussed at the Public Hearing will be available for inspection at the County Administrative Building during normal office hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The documents may also be downloaded for viewing on the County website under Council Meetings and select January 24, 2023 meeting date.

NOTICES OF PUBLIC HEARINGS: As per the Municipal Government Act, Council is required to hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of receiving comments on certain Bylaws and Resolutions. All Public Hearings are open to the public and attendance is encouraged. Oral and written comments may be recorded in Public Hearing minutes or otherwise made public, subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
