Private Driveways
The County of Wetaskiwin no longer provides private residential driveway snowplowing. List of Contractors for hire. Contractors wishing to be placed on the list can contact the Public Works Call Centre.
Large Snowfall
When the snowfall stops, and exceeds 10 cm, then the snow removal from graders and plow trucks begins. Grader operators will alternate their starting location, which means some roads are cleared first on a first snowfall, then alternates for subsequent snowfalls.
If there is a lot of snow, or if the snow is heavy and moist, or if there is a strong wind, it can take longer to move the snow and snow drifting. This can take several days to complete road clearing and your patience is appreciated.
Once all County roads have been opened, crews and equipment begin the longer process of roadway clean-up.
