In 2019 a group of Mulhurst Bay citizens came together with Administration and created the Mulhurst Bay Revitalization Plan which identified several initiatives to meet the ever-changing needs of the community. A key component of this plan was the expansion of the existing parking lot. During summer peak times the angled parking and the small additional parking north of the playground are congested due to the visitors utilizing one of the few public boat launches on Pigeon Lake. This is a major safety concern for the community and the pedestrian traffic in the area. It is apparent that the current supply of parking does not meet the current parking needs.
This summer there will be a new parking lot available in Mulhurst Bay for vehicles with boat trailers. The parking lot is located on 58 Avenue between 48 and 49 Street in Mulhurst Bay. The new parking lot will be able to accommodate 26 vehicles and trailers. County Administration will be monitoring the parking occupancy throughout the summer of 2021 and will assess if the parking needs exceed the current design.
The new parking lot will be paid parking of $20 per day. Patrons will be able to pay at a parking terminal via credit card.
Vehicles with boat trailers are no longer permitted to angle park on 49 street. Angle parking on 49 street is now reserved for passenger vehicles only.
