[ARCHIVED] 2022 Year of the Garden

Year of the Garden

County Council has proclaimed 2022 The Year of the Garden

It’s been a wet season but that’s good news for our rain garden here at the County office. Completed in August 2018, this garden is designed to collect excess moisture and runoff where it holds, filters and feeds nearby plants. Our garden is bursting with blossoms, busy bees and thirsty butterflies. The plants are well established and really starting to fill in making the garden appear mature after only three summers. The Rain Garden is located at the main entrance of the County office, we encourage you to take a stroll and see what’s growing on. For more information about rain gardens and their benefits visit Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership or contact Nicole Lancaster – Horticulturist with The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 at 780-352-3321 or email
