Volunteer Firefighting
The fire departments within the County of Wetaskiwin rely on the dedication and commitment of residents to operate. Volunteers are needed for numerous duties including:
  • Answering phones
  • Distributing pamphlets and information
  • On-call firefighting
  • Teaching fire prevention
Equipment & Compensation
Each fire department provides training, gear and equipment for volunteer firefighters. Some of the fire departments offer a minimal compensation package.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, please contact your local Fire Department or the Director of Emergency Services Mike Zajac (email or phone 780-361-6240).
