The StartUp Leduc Wetaskiwin Regions provides small businesses (0-5 years) with essential resources, trainings and connections to Start Up and Grow your business with various free services, including: 

  • FREE 1-1 startup steps coaching support in a variety of areas depending on your needs
  • FREE Mastermind Groups
  • FREE Business Resource Centre to learn more about available programs, supports, and to have access to practical business tools.
  • 8 month Entrepreneurial and Mentorship Training Program 
  • Training and Networking Events

For entrepreneurs who have a desire to grow/expand their business and can meet the demands of a more structured program with some time commitments, there is an opportunity to participate in the SMARTStart Leduc Wetaskiwin Regions. The program is open to new business owners in operation for less than 3 years, in the participating Municipalities, namely, the County of Wetaskiwin and Town of Millet (collectively known as the JEDI Region), the City of Leduc and the City of Wetaskiwin. 
 
 Here is what SMARTStart participants can expect:

  • Program runs over 8 months (February 2022 - November 2022 with a break for July/August.) 
  • Entrepreneurs spend about 40 hours completing online and in-person training.
  • Seminar times alternate between lunch and evenings to accommodate work and personal schedules.
  • Participants must be self-motivated and have the time necessary to complete their plan.
  • Time with mentors is agreed upon and scheduled between the entrepreneur and the mentors. Mentors commit to spending about 30 hours assisting their entrepreneur.
  • It is estimated that SMARTstart takes about 10 hours a month time commitment.
