The County of Wetaskiwin continues to respond to the impacts of significant rainfall, including localized flooding, water-covered roadways, washouts, and road closures in some areas.
As the impacts have begun to subside, the County is transitioning the lift station operations and lagoon management back to normal operations while continuing to monitor conditions across the municipality.
County crews are actively assessing washed-out areas, monitoring bridges that may have been impacted by the severe rainfall and completing road maintenance as conditions allow.
Several culverts were impacted by the significant rainfall event and crews are actively working on repairs and replacements to restore drainage in the County ditches.
Please continue to use extreme caution when travelling. Road conditions can change rapidly, and some roads may be impassable due to standing water, washouts, or flooding. Please obey all road closure signs and barricades. The following roads remain closed:
- Range Road 11 from Highway 611 to Township Road 452, including Bridge File 8599
- Range Road 15A from Highway 13 to Township Road 462
- Battle Lake Trail, north of the campground to the intersection of Township Road 464A and Township Road 465

Culverts across the County have also washed out due to flooding. Crews will continue working to restore normal operations where possible and will provide updates as conditions change.

Current Road Conditions
The County of Wetaskiwin is currently experiencing significant rainfall, resulting in localized flooding, water-covered roadways, and road closures in some areas.
Residents are advised to use extreme caution when travelling. Road conditions can change rapidly, and some roads may be impassable due to standing water, washouts, or flooding. Please obey all road closure signs and barricades and never drive through flooded areas.
County crews are actively monitoring conditions and responding where possible.
Wastewater Systems at Capacity
Due to the substantial amount of rainfall, several wastewater and lagoon systems are approaching or have reached capacity. Residents connected to municipal wastewater systems are asked to help reduce strain on the system by limiting non-essential water use where possible.
This includes:
- Delaying laundry and dishwasher use if possible
- Limiting unnecessary water consumption
- Conserving water until conditions improve
The County will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions change.
