The Province has implemented a province wide fire ban for the entire Forest Protection Area effective today at 4:00 pm.
Parts of the County of Wetaskiwin fall within the Rocky Mountain House Forest Protection Area. This includes lands located West of Range Road 73, South of Township Road 454, and those lands located South of Township Road 460 and East of Range Road 55 to Range Road 42. The area outlined in pink to the red boarder in the image below falls within the Rocky Mountain Forest Protection Area.
The County of Wetaskiwin currently does not have any fire restrictions in effect at this time, however residents are encourage to continue safe burning practices with the warmer than normal temperatures.
Fire Permits are required from March 1st to October 31st and can be obtained online or from a Fire Guardian in your division.
