Alberta Transportation will be doing Micro-Surfacing work along Highway 2 between Millet and Wetaskiwin and north and south of the Ponoka overpass. This will also include a number of overpass entrance and exits.
Project to begin Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 am through to August 31, 2022.
Work will occur any time of the day with the vast majority to occur at night. Nighttime construction will including lane closures, speed reductions to 50km/hr at times, speed fines double, be prepared to stop and loose chips are to be expected. Follow the pilot trucks and/or flag persons directions. Be prepared to stop. Expect traffic delays. One lane travel.

Micro-Surfacing is a treatment designed to extend the service life of asphalt pavements. It is a process where a specialized blend of aggregates and asphalt oil is applied to weathered and worn pavement surfaces to fill in voids within the pavement matrix as well as providing a moisture barrier sealant.
