Program Overview
The County of Wetaskiwin's sustainable agriculture program supports the adoption of beneficial management practices by agricultural producers through education and awareness. This includes:
The Alberta Environmental Farm plan is a whole farm self-assessment tool. It can help assess environmental risks, highlight improvements in resiliency, increase efficiency and more.
The EFP is voluntary, free and completed online. A Current EFP is required for some government funding programs and needs to be renewed every ten years.

The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a federal-provincial partnership delivering grant programs to Alberta farmers and other agricultural organizations and processors.
This 5-year investment strengthens competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of the agriculture sector.

ALUS is a program "Where Agriculture and Nature Meet". ALSU engages farmers to create, restore and enhance new acres of nature to respond to local environmental challenges and help build community resilience.
ALUS cost shares with farmers on project establishment and provides an annual payment for project management.

About your sustainable agriculture coordinator
Serving the Wetaskiwin and Leduc region, the SA coordinator is here to assist you on your path to agricultural resilience.
The SA coordinator:
- Is a trained EFP technician available to help local producers with the process.
- Connects farmers to grant opportunities like the S-CAP and can assist with the application process.
- Is the first point of contact for ALUS Wetaskiwin-Leduc
