On November 8, 2018, Council made amendments to Land Use Bylaw 2017/48 to allow for Cannabis Production, Storage and Distribution Facilities, and Accessory Stores in the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10. These facilities are for the growing, processing, and distribution of Cannabis and do not include the retail sale of Cannabis to the end consumer. Cannabis retail stores are not allowed in the County. Cannabis accessory stores are allowed but they cannot sell Cannabis.Cannabis Production, Storage and Distribution Facilities, and Accessory Stores are all considered discretionary uses and require the notification of neighbouring land owners, advertisement in the newspaper, and can be appealed. These uses are only allowed in specific industrial and commercial districts within the County.
