In June 2005, construction began on the new South Pigeon Lake Emergency Services Centre, which will be home for the South Pigeon Lake Fire Department. The Centre can also accommodate Ambulance, RCMP, and Special Constable Services. The location right on Highway 13 provides easy access for emergency crews.

On March 24, 2006 the South Pigeon Lake Fire Department moved into their new building.

An official grand opening of the South Pigeon Lake Emergency Services building is scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2007.
