Subdivisions

A subdivision is the process of dividing a parcel of land into two or more parcels so each will have its own legal title. Redistricting typically happens before a subdivision.

Subdivisions are processed in cooperation with West Central Planning Agency (WCPA). WCPA is an Agency formed by surrounding municipalities who cost share planning services. WCPA is contracted by the County to initiate all subdivision applications. Simple subdivisions that meet the requirements of Policy 61.1.3 may be approved by administration, however, all other subdivision application are approved by Council.

Subdivision larger than three or more parcels requires Area Structure Plan (ASP)
